COMPORTA: A magical village in Portugal, ideal to disconnect and connect with nature by the sea and amongst rice fields. Enjoy the beautiful beaches, many activities and yummy food! Read below to discover Alejandra Rodríguez's wellness and relaxing guide.
WHAT TO DO:
Visit Troia and go for a boat ride to see the dolphins and swim in the water.
Go to Troia Beach Club which has a super cool ambiance and delicious food! Try their artisanal ice creams “Gula Bemdita.” My favorites are passion fruit and chocolate.
Biking in the rice fields.
Run or walk in Comporta’s incredible beaches.
Kite and surfing at Carvajal beach.
WHERE TO EAT:
Hotel Quinta da Comporta: The breakfasts are so delicious and with a gorgeous view of the rice fields. You have healthy options like poached eggs with guac, natural yogurt with homemade granola, fruits and nuts...as well as not-so-healthy options like pancakes and croissants!
O Dinis Restaurante: It’s a chiringuito at the Carvajal beach where we had the best fish in Portugal. I recommend the grilled turbot with rice and salad. Very simple but delicious!
Restaurante Sublime: Located in the same beach as O Dinis, but this one is a bit more fancy and a more varied menu. The octopus is spectacular!
Restaurante Ilha Do Arroz: Enjoy your lunch with a view of the ocean. The mussels were incredible! Great to get several things from the menu and share with your family or friends.
Restaurante Comporta Café: Nice place with a great ambiance. I recommend trying the typical Portuguese drink: “Porto-Tonic” with white Porto wine. Refreshing and great for a beach day. Order the roasted sardines with the house salad with cheese and tomato marmalade.
WHERE TO STAY
WHERE TO SHOP:
Casa Da Cultura: It’s a central market with many different and cool stands with Portuguese artisanal products. Ideal to shop for tableware, home decor, accessories and clothes.
Lavanda: Concept store with unique and different pieces.
WHY I LOVE IT: This summer was my first time visiting Comporta and I hope it’s the first of many. It is a magical place to disconnect for a couple of days. It’s ideal to visit if you live in Spain because it is so close and easy to get there by car or plane. This spot in Portugal transformed our vacations with incredible days eating yummy food, enjoying the beautiful beaches and doing certain activities with the family that kept us active during those days of summer escape! If you are looking for relaxing and fun vacations, don’t doubt in visiting this magical place. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
